the weekend

Lily has a new baby cousin! His name is Nicholas. We havent met him yet but are very excited to see him.
We had a good weekend. Saturday night I went out to Southport for my good friend Danielles birthday to see The Chee Weez play. I hadnt been there for a night out in over a year! Pre-Lily, we use to go every weekend and had sooo much fun, so we were super excited about going like old times....plus mama really needed a night out! Bryan worked the show so i rode there with him and met my friends there. It was CROWDED but we had a great time. Although one thing was apparent to me...somethings never change, no matter how badly you want them to. "Its always something" is Bryan and I's new motto. And its really starting to actually get humorous. I mean are you serious? Miserable, miserable, miserable is all i can say....to the people that know what im talking about. Life is too short to have to deal with this perpetual crap all the time. So back to the good stuff. We took Lily to City Park to ride the "choo-choo." She loves the amusement park. She went on the little cars, the airplanes, the carousel, and the big yellow fun slide! She's so ready for the roller coaster too...everytime we go, she points to it. My little dare devil. We also went to Storyland, another Lily favorite. Back at home, my dad and sister were there waiting to play with Lily. All in all, it was a great weekend. And i have a new favorite quote: ENJOY LIFE. THIS IS NOT A DRESS REHERSAL. Some individuals need to incorporate this into their lives. Life is way too short for the crap.

mother's day

happy mothers day to all the mamas out there!!

i had a fun and relaxing mothers day thanks to bryan and my sweet lily. lily woke up around 730 and bryan let me sleep in...as much as lily would let me of course. he took her to mcdonalds to get us breakfast and by the time they were back, i was up and moving around. i have been wanting a flag pole and flag to put up on our house and bryan got me one for mothers day! the flag is black with a big gold fleur de lis on it! i love it! he was sweating out on the porch for 30 minutes trying to put it up for me and finally got it, after almost hammering his finger off, and i just went outside to look at it and it fell down...hee hee!! poor thing! he tried so hard! but anyway, we just hung around the house for a while. we watched toy story (lilys new favorite along with 101 dalmations) and went and got lunch at chateau...they have the best veggie burgers!! when we got home, i put lily down for her nap and when she woke up, my dad and sister came over (with peach "pina colada" roses for me :-)) and we ordered dinner from yummy venezias. lily and her paw paw ran around the house and played all evening. she just LOVES him. every 5 minutes, its "paw paw! hi paw paw! hi!" so cute. here are some pics from today:

hellooo

so i decided to start a blog for our little family. this way all of my out of town (thanks to katrina) relatives and everyone else can check out what we've been up to. this stuff is a pretty good idea. dont know why i didnt start one earlier! better late then never i guess!

so lets see. where to start...Lily will be 25 months old tomorrow. where does the time go??? i see all the pregnant ladies in bryans family right now and think "damn...its already been 2 years since i was pregnant???" crazy. feels like just yesterday. but anyway, Lily is doing great. she went to the doctor on monday for her 2 year check up and she is in the 50th %-ile for weight and 95th for height!!!! shes gonna be tall like bryan!! crazy though cuz when she was born she was only 19.5 inches long and stayed short and chubby throughout her babyhood. we so though she was gonna have my height (or lack there of). anyway, she also had to get her little finger pricked to check for anemia (standard procedure-everythings prefect) and she got one big ole shot. my poor baby...she was screaming crying, looking up at me like "why are you letting them hurt me??" it breaks my heart!! but she was over it soon after and kept her little bandaged finger up for all the world to see. :-)

she says a new word every day. yesterday she finally said her name for the first time and it was sooooo flippin' cute!!! Lilys a hard one to say for little ones with those double "L's" in there. i was very proud of my girl. this week we also started going swimming every day at marshalls pool and she just loves it. shes a little fish in that water. i think we are going to enroll her in swim lessons this summer. they have a place that specializes in teaching swim to babies her age.

as for me, ive really dove into wedding planning this week....and its no fun. i thought this stuff was going to be fun! its stressfull!!!! our wedding date is november 14th, 2008 for all who dont know, and we are having the ceremony and reception at the new orleans board of trade. its such a gorgeous place. very old new orleans. it will for sure be a great party!

i will end this blog for now b/c i could just ramble on all night. here are some recent pics of our snuggle pops by the pool. enjoy :-)
