Lily's New Playroom

I finally finished the playroom! I transformed our guest bedroom into a playroom for Lily. (dont worry out of towners...we are getting a futon!) I painted the room, which took me a few nights, and moved all of her toys and tv in. We also bought a saltwater aquarium for the room and are putting 2 nemo fish in it! (nemo is her FAVORITE right now) I tried to make it an underwater/disney theme and i think it came out pretty good. Lily loves it. Everyday when she waker up from her nap she says"Blue...Blue room?"....so i think i did a good job. Next project is painting Lilys room.

becky's going away party

My mom and step dad came in town this weekend from Texas for a visit. We havent seen them in over 2 months so it was nice. Lily had a great time. My step sister and bridesmaid, Erin, also came down from Baton Rouge and helped me and my mom with some wedding shopping. We went searching for shoes to go with my dress and i found some that i love but have to go back with my dress so they can be dyed to match. I got a few things out of the way but still have a lot more to do for this wedding. I met with the florist last week and we still need to have our cake tasting. There is sooo much to do!! Now i see why people hire planners!!

I did get to relax Saturday night. One of my best friends, Becky, is moving to Austin and we threw her a New Orleans themed going away party at her brothers house. Just about all of my good friends were there, who i rarely get in the same place at the same time (3 of my bridesmaids and one usher!! haha) and it was lots of fun. I made jambalaya (with the sausage in it...i am a vegetarian for all who dont know and i rarely cook meat...unless its something like chicken nuggets for Lily) and everyone loved it. Who knew i could cook really good meat products?? haha. Anyway, we had Abita beer and king cake and other yummy things that reminded Becky of home. It was a fun party and im going to miss my Becky so much!!! Here are some pics from that night:

greek fest and home improvement

last weekend we went to the greek fest. lily had a fun time. they had 2 spacewalks for the kiddies and she LOVES to bounce. They didnt have much of a food selection. Bryan got a gyro and me and Lily shared feta fries (french fries with feta cheese on top) and a snowball. we didnt stay very long. there wasnt much to see or do and it was HOT. we parked on the median behind the greek church. so we get in the car, with Lily throwing a major fit b/c she didnt want to leave, and realize we are stuck in the mud. yes stuck, with our 2 year old in the middle of a kicking and screaming temper tantrum, which, of course, makes bryan start to have a meltdown. he likes to get worked up. i wonder where lily gets it from??? so in the midst of bryan cursing and hitting the dashboard and lily chucking her baby crocs at my head, i casually and calmly pull out my phone and call my brother who lives a few blocks away in lake vista. within 3 minutes he was there. i got our screaming lily into his truck and he took us to he and marshalls house so lily could calm down and cool off in their pool. they then went back to help bryan before he had a heart attack and they managed to push the car out of the mud. we have a jeep. you would think jeeps would be well equipped to get out of a little mud. oh well. we did had fun swimming after....and ate the best crawfish in the world. no really. marshalls crawfish is the BEST. i refuse to eat anybody elses b/c it always pales in comparison. its that good.

this weekend, we did some room re-arranging and decorating. i've been really crazy into cleaning, organizing, and just general home improvement lately. i feel like im nesting. its like a frenzy. weird. but i do enjoy it. so anway, as most of you know, our dining room has been lilys play room every since we moved in b/c her room cannot contain the enormous amount of toys the child has. so i thought i'd be a good idea to take the guest room and turn it into her playroom. we moved all of the bedroom furniture downstairs and moved all her toys and her tv and movies into that room. we also moved our dining room table and chairs back upstairs and they look great where they should be in the DINING room. luckily my dad was there to help with moving things. my next project is painting. i want to liven up the house a little. maybe with bright tropical colors. i have always loved that idea. i told bryan when we moved in that i wanted a jimmy buffett house...something you'd see in the carribean or key west...bright and colorful, tropical and fun. so thats my next mission. picking out colors. i'll post some pics of the new playroom and dining room when i get everything where i want it. here are some pics from the greek fest last week:
