my birthday!

My 24th birthday was on Tuesday and we didnt really do much that day. Lily and I went to the mall to stroll around and that evening, Marshall came over with some pizza. Last night Bryan and I went out to the Bulldog to meet some of my friends to celebrate. We had a great time and it was so good to see everyone!

Today was our last I to I Thursday! We are going to miss it sooo much! We had a little graduation ceremony for the remaining kids and they even got to wear little cap and gowns! Lily also got an I to I graduation certificate! It was so cute! One of Lily's little buddies, Kate, who is 3, told Lily "We will still be friends after I to I." Shes the little girl laughing in one of the pics with Lily. I'm so sad! We have been going for a year now and have had so much fun and have made some good friends. Thursdays will never be the same without our I to I. :-( I think we'll join one of the other chapters. Lily loves hanging out with other kids...and of course its good for me to be able to talk to some adults instead of just a 2 year old all day! :-) Enjoy the pics!!!

insectarium and i to i

My grandparents, Oma and Opa, came in town for a visit last week and we all went to visit the new Insectarium. It was pretty neat. Lily had fun even though she was in a rotten mood that day. I really liked the butterfly garden and Lily loved this red volkswagon beetle they had made into an exhibit. I, however, did NOT like the multiple displays of every kind of cockroach known to man. If you know me well, you know i HATE HATE bugs (except for ladybugs, doodlebugs, and butterflys) and the whole time we were there i kept itching cuz i felt like i had bugs all over me. heehee. But we all had a good time.

Also, Lilys fun playgroup, infancy to independence (i to i), is sadly shutting down. This thursday coming up will be our last time meeting. I to I has a lakeview chapter as well as uptown, westbank, and river ridge and ever since katrina, lakeview has been having a hard time finding people to join, so they are closing....which is really sad b/c Lily and I have been going for a year now and she just LOVES it. I know shes going to be asking about it when and wondering where all her little friends are. so sad. :-( We may join the uptown chapter. Here are some pics from the Insectarium and Lily at I to I. They are having a little graduation for her at our next/last meeting on Thursday and i will post more pics after that. Also, on august 23rd, i to i is having a huge garage sale to get rid of all the toys and books and things we have. i will be helping work it so let me know if you are interested in coming. we've got A LOT of great toys, books, games, arts and crafts supplies, tables/chairs, dress-up stuff, you name it....all very cheap.

Oh, and CONGRATS TO LENEE AND DAN!!! YAY FOR BABY DAN!! WE CANT WAIT TO MEET HIM! :-)
